A four-photo grid page built around a woven paper border — it looks a lot more advanced than it actually is once you get the strip widths right.
Supply List
- 12" × 12" cardstock base
- Two coordinating Designer Series Paper sheets
- Trimmer with a scoring blade or a separate paper cutter
- Four 4" × 4" photos
The Weaving Technique
- Cut half-inch strips from your first patterned paper, running the full 12" length.
- Cut matching half-inch strips from your second pattern.
- Lay one set of strips vertically across a scrap sheet, spaced evenly.
- Weave the second set horizontally, over-under-over, until you've built a solid woven panel roughly 8" × 8".
- Trim the woven panel to size and adhere it as a border strip along one edge of your layout.
- Arrange your four photos in a grid on the remaining space, leaving a small even gutter between each.
Tips
Tape the ends of your strips down on the scrap sheet with removable tape before weaving — it keeps everything from sliding around while you work, and you can trim excess afterward.
